Summer is here!

May 21st, 2009 Posted in Denver

Can you believe it?!?

Is it just me, or does it feel like Memorial Day is way too early this year? Does anyone remember April? I feel like it never came! Oh well!
It’s time for swim suits, Jetskis, 5ks, 10ks, sun screen and sunny, warm, beautiful days! Time to celebrate!

Here are a few ideas to kick off summer:

Memorial Day- 10k Bolder Boulder

A fantastic cause; run, walk, jog– whatever! There is no chance you won’t be entertained. Between the Blues Brothers, the dancers and Elvis, you’ll keep moving just to see what’s around the next bend.  Check out www.BolderBoulder.com for more information.

June 14th-19th- Ride the Rockies
A non-competitive event, where cyclists ride the mountains, take in the scenic views and promote good health and cleaner living. Out of the thousands who register, only 2,000 are excepted so register now! www.ridetherockies.com

Father’s Day- Highlands Ranch Classic Car Show
Show off your classic car for only a couple bucks, or tour others during this Father’s Day weekend for free! Maybe after hit the green at one of the area’s local golf courses?

Fourth of July- Cottoncreek Drive Parade
Dress your best in Red, White and Blue– decorate the bike, or wagon– or whatever you’ve got and win prizes! Build your own float and venture behind the fire truck (yes, fire truck!) and celebrate our nation! 10a.m on the S.E. end of theCul De Sac.

There are so many other activities Colorado has to offer. Stay tuned here for updated information and even more activities! In the meantime, don’t forget to check out the Zoo, the new pool at Lone Tree, the Highlands Ranch recreational facilities and the many parks in the area! If you’re interested in a vacation, Estes Park and Colorado Springs have a lot to offer!

Oh and don’t forget your sun screen!!
