Restaurant Week- Denver

February 22nd, 2009 Posted in Denver

Yesterday kicked off the beginning of Restaurant Week in Denver.
While I was living in New York, my friends and I, all in our mid-twenties, living paycheck to paycheck would save up what money we could in the weeks before and frequent as many restaurants as possible.
Every time, we would pick a place that we’d never been to, nor would we, on a typical occasion, simply because money was tight. Restaurant week changed that when it offered a 3 or 4 course gourmet meal for a reasonable price of $30 a person.
Last night, my boyfriend and I went to Juicy Lucy’s in Cherry Creek… It was simply delicious. They brought out a large basket of bread to begin and he ordered an Elk in Fillo dish for his 1st course, and I, a lemon glazed artichoke. The presentation was beautiful and by the time we got to our second course of a 12 oz sirloin steak and potato- we were almost stuffed. For dessert we had three separate options but we both ordered creme brulee. YUM YUM!
I know not too many people are familiar with this week (actually, it’s been extended to March 6th) but you can find all you want to know here: http://www.denver.org/denverrestaurant/Default.aspx

Dinner is $52.80 per couple or $26.40 a person. Some places offer complimentary drinks or alcoholic beverages at a reduced price.

Don’t miss it! And try some where you’ve never been to, or wouldn’t regularly afford! Oh! And don’t forget to call ahead for reservations… and even if you’ve reserved a table, be patient since every restaurant has had more business than usual.
